Choosing Plants
Time to visit your nursery!
You can find plants for your SkyPots arrangements at your local nursery or online. We recommend choosing small or medium size plants to allow room for them to establish inside your SkyPots.
The classic hanging plant
Plants with long trailing stems .
Trailing plants or "spillers" work great with SkyPots 13" and 17" kits.
Planting your long-stemmed plants in SkyPots is much easier than in other hanging planters.
You'll no longer have to weave the stems between the strings, wires or plastic straps of most hanging planters. This can become a tangled mess!
They look great hung solo or at the bottom of a SkyPots arrangement.
If plants are connected below, you may have to add Grow Chains to increase the spacing.
You can't go wrong with filler plants
Upright plants with outward growing stems .
Also called "fillers", this type of plant is well suited for any position in a SkyPots arrangements. Try to avoid plants that will grow too tall. If they do, you can always add Grow Chains.
These plants are likely to completely fill in between the pots making them an excellent choice for creating a green screen.
Multi-stem plants are preferred over single thick-stemmed plants since they will not compete with the rod.
