FROM DIY PROJECT TO READY-TO-ASSEMBLE KITS

SkyPots hanging kits are an improved version of the original DIY project on The Horticult that was featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine in 2016. It involved drilling through plastic test plugs from the hardware store and cutting long threaded rods with a hack saw. There had to be an easier way to hang and stack your everyday pots while still allowing the pots to drain.

We're now growing over 80 SkyPots arrangements in our garden! The collection continues to grow as we develop new products and accessories.

Introducing SkyPots. With the help of a 3D printer (for prototyping) and four years of testing in my garden, I was able to design flanges that drain without clogging. I then developed a rod and eye nut system that made the pots connectable. Best of all, the kits can now be assembled by hand with no tools required. I have taken special care to develop high quality kits that can be collected and reused again and again through many years of gardening.

I think you’ll love this modern new way to build vertical gardens with your everyday pots. Prepare to get hooked!

SkyPots hanging kits are now patented! U.S. Pat. No. 11,202,521 and U.S. Pat. No. D920,709.

I used a 3D printer to prototype and test the drainable flange design before developing the commercial mold to mass produce the flanges.

Original DIY version featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine, April 2016.

While this was a great DIY project, we received feedback that it was a bit difficult and three pots connected along one rod became awkward and heavy to handle. That’s why when we designed SkyPots kits, we shaped the hardware for easy hand assembly and made single connectable kits of different lengths. In addition, we invented a clog-free flange design because the re-purposed plumbing fixtures (below) often clogged. Altogether, SkyPots hanging kits save you the hard work of this DIY project with improved versatility and drainage!
