Create your own look by choosing your own clay or ceramic pots. Many styles and colors are available at your local nursery, garden center or online. Just make sure the pots have a flat bottom and a drain hole that’s near center.
We recommend pots that are 4-10” wide by 4-6″ deep (for 13″ and 17″ SkyPots kits). 7”+ taller pots can be used but may not allow enough room for plants to grow in the arrangement. Our favorite terracotta pots to use are 6-9″ Azalea Pots which should be readily available at your local nursery or garden center. We recommend visiting your local nursery to source your glazed terracotta pots since you’ll want to inspect the drain holes in person to make sure they are near center. We’ve also found that local nursery and hardware store prices are much better than shopping online for these sizes.
Drain holes should be at least 1/2 inch wide. Holes should be near center but do not need to be perfect. Some misalignment is okay. Just make sure the rod can be centered in the pot so that the pot does not hang crooked.
Most standard terracotta pots from your local nursery or garden center are mass produced with perfectly centered drain holes and will work great with SkyPots.
Glazed cylindrical clay pots and ceramic pots work great for SkyPots arrangements but check that the drain holes are large enough and near center.
